The Rain Bird 5000 Nozzle

The Rain Bird 5000 Nozzle series provide ideal coverage for medium to large sized lawns. The nozzle distributes water very evenly within a distance of 25 to 50 feet. The technology that was developed especially for this particular nozzle allows for a pattern of spray that is very uniform, which gives a consistency to the growing of the grass very evenly as it is watered that way.

The water droplets that are emitted from the Rain Bird 5000 nozzle are larger than normal which prevents misting of the water, and reduces evaporation before it hits the ground. This ensures that the water is going to hit the ground in the right place as water, and not as mist. This saves water as well as money, as the moisture is applied.

There is a unique feature of the nozzle that applies a gentle, close in watering feature that basically eliminates any dry spots right around the rotor itself. This prevents washout of seeds in that spot, and allows for the grass in that very area to enjoy healthy growth without any bending or matting of the grass.

Some of the features of the Rain Bird 5000 include a flow shut-off valve which stops water flow to a particular head while the system is still operating.

Items such as a quick installation adjustment mechanism with a slip clutch, a retract spring that is heavy-duty, assuring a positive pop down of the nozzle, and an adjustment of the arc with only a flat bladed screwdriver needed.

There is a pressure activated seal that protects the internal parts of the nozzle from normal yard debris and helps to maintain smooth pop-up and retraction of the nozzle.

There are many other features that assure a strong structural nozzle for a long time to come. It is no wonder that Rain Bird has such a good reputation in the irrigation industry, with parts like this nozzle that is pretty much under constant use, and knowing that it will last for a long time.

In commercial and home watering needs it is nice to know that an element like the 5000 nozzle is going to get the job done in delivering the right amount of water to the right place at the right time. This is as much appreciated in a home yard as it is on the commercial golf course. Knowing the grass is always going to get a consistent amount of water without having to think too much about it, is the mark of a good product.
